Electrical performance:
Insulation resistance: The insulator shall be able to maintain the insulation resistance of the specified value under the rated voltage.
Media loss: the performance of energy converted into heat energy in the insulating material, too high media loss will make the insulator heat, destroy its insulation performance.
Breakdown voltage: Insulators must reliably withstand normal operating voltages and potential overvoltages under specified conditions.
Mechanical properties:
Mechanical strength: under normal operating conditions, the insulator can withstand mechanical stress and vibration and other forces, without damage, cracks and other damage.
Tensile strength: The insulator should be able to withstand the tension of the overhead line without damage or deformation.
Impact resistance: the insulator shall be free from damage, crack and other damage under external impact.
